Product Introduction
Myelin is a high-performance decentralized distributed storage system (DePIN NAS), and its structure is as follows:

Where:
- Myelin Network is a set of core nodes based on PoS (Proof-of-Stake), responsible for storing files and providing scheduling services for Myelin Node, similar to Filecoin and IPFS
- Myelin Node is a special supernode responsible for managing regional file indexes and caches, and providing DID (Decentralized Identity Verification) services
- Myelin Client is the basic client of Myelin, responsible for forwarding file indexing services and also providing smaller caching services
When a user uploads a file, the file needs to be directly passed to Myelin Network; when retrieving a file, it needs to be retrieved through Myelin Client. The detailed flowchart for retrieving a file is as follows:
All Cephalon Nodes are equipped with the Myelin Client service. Under normal circumstances, when starting the Cephalon Core, the Myelin Client should be started simultaneously to provide file services; otherwise, the Cephalon Node will not be able to correctly provide the services of the "Cephalon Cloud Space".
Files stored in the Myelin Network are encrypted using PKI, and users need to provide the correct private key to decrypt the files. The user's public key is managed by numerous Myelin Nodes and provides DID services through ZKP (Zero-Knowledge Proof). If a user fails to accurately pass the DID verification, they will be unable to access the files (let alone decrypt them).
If Myelin Client fails to find a suitable Myelin Node within the region, it will attempt to communicate directly with Myelin Network, a process that is extremely poor (very slow and insecure), so please try to avoid this situation.
To avoid the above situation, it is recommended to allocate 1 Myelin Node for every 4 Cephalon Nodes (approximately 20 GPUs), so that Myelin Client can easily find the Myelin Node and further avoid direct communication with the Myelin Network.
Users only need to purchase a Myelin Node and ensure that the Myelin Node and Cephalon Node are in the same subnet. Since the Myelin Client currently only scans Myelin Nodes within the same subnet, the Myelin Node and Cephalon Node must be in the same subnet to function properly.
